Thank you from the NSSI Team
Partner Teachers and Leaders–
You did it! Thanks to you, your students had a wonderful summer of learning.
While NSSI worked hard to provide a strong curriculum and support, YOU were the magic in the classroom each day. From day one, you brought our shared vision to life—centering student thinking, fostering rich discussion, and making every lesson meaningful.
We are full of gratitude for your commitment–all of the family communication, intellectual preparation, student work analysis, discourse-based teaching, feedback on student work, and more that you have done every day.
While we don’t have all the data in yet, initial results show very happy parents, significant growth in student skills, and students who loved the books, the math challenges, and, most of all, are really appreciative of their teachers’ hard work and support this summer.
After some of the most challenging years in education, you stepped up to serve your students and grow as educators. That is remarkable, and you should be proud of what you have accomplished for students.
Each of you has played your part to support the students in your classroom or the teachers you coach, but you are also part of something much bigger—a nationwide community of educators who came together to support thousands of students in having an exceptional summer.
Thank you.
We see you, we appreciate you, and we hope to work together again next summer.
With gratitude,
The NSSI Team
June 27, 2025: Action: Post-Assessments & Program Surveys!
We’re in the final stretch! We can’t wait to see how much your students have grown and to hear your feedback about your experience. Please submit your post-assessment data and make sure you (and your students!) complete surveys by your last day. Please read below for more details.
In appreciation,
The NSSI Team
End-of-Program Surveys!
ACTION: Complete and administer end-of-program surveys by 7/7 (or the last day of your program).
1) Complete your Teacher Survey (linked here).
2) Give the online Student Survey (linked here) to your students in 3rd-12th grade
Share the survey link directly with students–they will need access to a device such as a computer, tablet, or smartphone.
Make a copy and modify this short slide deck to share instructions
We recommend that you give the survey during class or at another time of the school day. If that’s not possible, you can assign it as homework.
If you’re not sure how to administer the survey, check in with your school leader to identify a plan!
Surveys help us understand what we are doing well and where we need to improve, and we thank you for your time and feedback in advance!
Give Post-Assessments and submit scores by Tuesday, July 8
We are excited to measure student growth from the beginning to the end of our program, but we can only do that if we have data from both tests. Here’s what to do:
Administer post-tests on your second-to-last day of summer instruction.
Score your tests and submit test data to NSSI no later than EOD on Tuesday, July 8.
Where to find help:
Instructions, scoring guides, and submission forms are in the Day 23 Daily Overview (linked from the Unit Overview).
